Ding dong ding dong

The doorbell rang.

Ruo Bi jumped out of his arms, and ran to open the door. When she thought of the little guy’s return, her eyes were filled with joy.

Yang Wei entered the room with Xiao Samo in his arms, and waved to her. “Little sister-in-law!”

But after a while, the happiness in Ruo Bi’s eyes disappeared.

Xiao Samo didn’t know her anymore. Not only did he not know her, but he was also a little afraid of her, so he kept hiding in Yang Wei’s arms.

Hua Jingzhi took the opportunity to persuade her, “Look, it is so close to Yang Wei. Why not let Yang Wei keep it, and I will buy you another one when I have a chance?”

Ruo Bi could only nod her head. The little guy was not fated to be with her.

“Have you eaten yet? Sit down first. I’ll go downstairs to buy some cold dishes. Yang Wei, you should stay and eat before leaving.”

Yang Wei had this in mind and held a pack of beer in his hand. “Hua Jingzhi has finally made it, so I was ordered by the chief today to represent everyone in the bureau and bring him some beer to celebrate.”

Ruo Bi changed clothes and went downstairs, bought some cold dishes to go with beer in the restaurant downstairs, and got two hot dishes. When she paid and came out, she happened to bump into Director Zhao.

Director Zhao also saw her, and her eyes instantly lit up. She exchanged a look with Constable Hua1 behind her that seemed to say: “It happened! It definitely happened!”

Constable Hua was expressionless, but there was a smile in his eyes.

“Uncle Hua, Aunt Zhao.” Ruo Bi came over and greeted them.

Director Zhao smiled. “Oh, what a coincidence, I came to see Hua Jingzhi with Uncle Hua, and I met you again.”

Ruo Bi laughed a couple of times in embarrassment, and wanted to cover it up. “Actually, Hua Jingzhi has a friend coming over. I stopped by and he asked me to bring some food. I have something to do later, so I have to leave after delivering it.”

Director Zhao thought the little girl was acting shy from being exposed and didn’t continue to expose her. She dragged her upstairs. “Let’s go, let’s go home first. Oh, by the way, I gave Hua Jingzhi a dog last time, is it still there?”

Ruo Bi nodded and said, “Yes.”

Director Zhao laughed. It’s good if it was still there. Samoyed were notoriously clingy. They would see the dog soon, and as long as it stuck to Ruo Bi, it meant that Ruo Bi had been at her son’s house, and these two children were a done deal.

But as soon as she entered the door, Director Zhao’s face turned green.

Xiao Samo didn’t even look at Ruo Bi. It turned around and threw itself into the arms of a man.

And that man just came out of the bathroom. His hair was wet as he raised his head and shouted, “Brother Hua Jingzhi, your bath is still so comfortable. It’s a bit big, so it’s a waste to use so much water for one person. Next time, let’s wash together!”

Director Zhao looked at Hua Jingzhi, “This is…your friend?”

Hua Jingzhi nodded, “Yeah, from the bureau.”

Yang Wei had heard of Constable Hua and Director Zhao a long time ago, and hurried over to greet them. “Hello uncle, auntie, my name is Yang Wei.”

While talking, Xiao Samo whined in dissatisfaction and begged to be hugged. He was extremely clingy.

“Ah… hello, hello…” Director Zhao swayed. She almost lost her footing, and looked back at her husband with an almost crying expression.

Constable Hua’s face was as dark as the bottom of a burnt pot: “No wonder there  weren’t any condoms…”

Hua Jingzhi helped Director Zhao to sit down on the sofa. “I was wrong about this. I insisted on her living here. She was unwilling at first, but I forced her. Mom, don’t be prejudiced against her. She is a very good person.2

Forced by my own son?!

Director Zhao burst into tears: “Then… have you… that…”

In the end, Hua Jingzhi didn’t want to lie to his biological parents, so he blushed and said, “Yes, but I forced her…Dad, Mom, I’m really serious, and I will treat her well for the rest of my life.”

Director Zhao felt that she couldn’t stay any longer, and it was the same for Constable Hua. They left in a daze.

Ruo Bi sent them downstairs, and when she came back she was in a bad mood.

Hua Jingzhi comforted her. “Don’t be sad, my parents are old-fashioned…”

Ruo Bi pursed her lips. “I told you that if they find out that we live together while being unmarried, they would definitely think that I am a very loose person…”

“Oh, I’ll try to persuade them later, they like you a lot…”

They were a bit frustrated, so Yang Wei enjoyed a lot of delicious food by himself. He ate meat while drinking, and felt very happy.

Xiao Samo wanted to eat so it barked, Yang Wei secretly fed it a small piece of meat.

In the car downstairs, Director Zhao took several deep breaths, but still couldn’t accept it.

Constable Hua gripped the steering wheel tightly, and sighed. “Forget it, it’ll be fine, Hua Jingzhi didn’t end up with Ruo Bi, so we don’t have to worry about being unable to explain things to Lao Ruo.”

Director Zhao wiped her tears with the back of her hand. “The dog was honest…”

not sure why the author changed it from professor to constable so I’ll be using constable from now on

as an fyi, he/she sound the same in Chinese, so his parents don’t know that Hua Jingzhi is talking about Ruo Bi and not Yang Wei
