第 23 章
Ending It
Falling in love or having sex with anyone else is not okay.
What was this?
Did he want to say that he was serious? Was it another confession?
After picking tea, Liang Shiyun had been thinking about her relationship with Chu Xia.
To be honest, it’s not that she didn’t know how Chu Xia felt.
From the moment he started to live in her community, or from the moment he kissed her in the resort, she had been vaguely aware of his intention to get back together.
While she was enjoying his company and his body, she was secretly guessing his next step.
After a breakup, most people did not want their ex to live too well, and Liang Shiyun was no exception.
Of course, she didn’t expect Chu Xia to repent.
The breakup that year made her realize that she was not an inseparable existence to him.
He wanted to turn back to the past. He had met people over the years, but she was the one who made him the happiest. And perhaps, new relationships need time to get used to, but it was never as good as an old one
No matter what the reason was, in the end, he wasn’t able to be there for her.
And this kind of mentality was really difficult to control.
The moment she expected her ex to feel regret, her mind had been occupied by him again.
Liang Shiyun didn’t want to admit this.
But when she saw Yu Xiaoman, when she saw her picking tea with Chu Xia, she pretended nothing happened when she was actually jealous.
Very slight jealousy, but it was still there.
Sex and love might be inseparable at all. A woman’s brain secretes certain hormones that would make her fall in love with the man she slept with. Aside from physical reasons, her mind loved him at one point and it wasn’t that hard to have feelings for him again.
But a person shouldn’t fall for the same person twice.
Perhaps this was a game she couldn’t play with him anymore.
“I have to work overtime tonight.”
In the office, she looked at the text message from Chu Xia. Liang Shiyun chose to decline for the third time this week.
“Busy lately?” Chu Xia asked the next morning during their morning exercise.
“Yes,” Liang Shiyun said. “I’ve been quite busy.”
But she didn’t say what she was busy with. After a while, she said, “I ordered a treadmill for the office, I won’t be coming to do morning exercises with you tomorrow.”
Chu Xia’s footsteps froze.
Liang Shiyun didn’t need to turn her head to see his surprised expression. She didn’t stop.
Between adults, some things did not need to be said openly. She knew that Chu Xia understood what she meant.
In late March, Liang Shiyun’s birthday.
It happened to be the weekend, so she went back to the villa to have lunch with her father at noon, and returned to Fang Yuan’s house in the evening. At the dinner table, she heard something good—Fang Shiya won second prize in an essay competition.
No wonder Fang Yuan cooked a large table of dishes.
Liang Shiyun was happy for Fang Shiya, but she was a little bit disappointed.
Since she was a child, she has won numerous awards. She didn’t even have to take the college entrance exam, she went straight to college. However, it felt like there was no award that could make Fang Yuan praise her.
Because of Fang Shiya’s award, the main character for the dinner changed.
Liang Shiyun saw the family of three enjoying themselves happily. She returned to the apartment without staying after dinner. In the parking lot, a corgi suddenly jumped out, wagging its tail around her legs.
Does the dog smell food? Or was it because her period was coming soon?
Liang Shiyun raised her hand to sniff her sleeve, and suddenly heard a burst of laughter.
She turned her head and saw a tall boy winking at her. “Sister, long time no see.”
