Giving a Dog

After finally seeing off his parents, Hua Jing was lying alone on the empty bed. His heart was full of malicious fire.

He took out his cell phone and called the perpetrator.

Ruo Bi: “Hello?”

The subtle female voice easily turned his anger into full of grievances. “I’m really shameless, right?”

Ruo Bi laid on her small single bed. She rolled around with a plush toy in her arms. “Didn’t we agree last time to not tell the family…”

“Then tell me, when will you be able to say it?”

Ruo Bi thought for a while. “I’ll go home this weekend and test my parents first, okay?”

Could he disagree?

In the future, the relationship between him and the father-in-law and the mother-in-law was  very important.

They also knew that Ruo Bi rejected him for more than 20 years. To suddenly say that the two of them were together might be unbelieve to the old couple for a while.

Forget it, take your time…

But why is my heart hurting…

“Did your parents go to your place again?”

“Yeah,” Hua Jingzhi said with annoyance. “My dad inspected my house as if it were a crime scene.”

Ruo Bi pouted. “What conclusion did they reach?”

Hua Jingzhi’s tone was sour, “Said our friendship is as solid as a rock…”

Ruo Bi chuckled. “It seems like our anti-reconnaissance work has been very good. Professor Hua didn’t find anything!”

“As soon as they entered, they went straight to the bathroom to look through the trash can. Do you know what they are looking for?”

Ruo Bi had a bit of a guess. “It can’t be… that… right?”

Hua Jingzhi sighed to agree.

Ruo Bi suddenly thought about when they went to the supermarket that day. Hua Jingzhi insisted on throwing out that box of Okamoto 003

“So you didn’t let me buy condoms to prevent your dad from finding out?”

“That’s not true,” Hua Jingzhi said. “I just want to get you pregnant as soon as possible, that’s it.”

Without his tireless demands, Ruo Bi had a good night’s sleep. When she went to work the next day, she felt refreshed and her feet felt light.

Hua Jingzhi, who was on vacation, didn’t go to bed until late at night.

He slept for a few hours, but was then woken up by his parents who came uninvited again.

As soon as he opened the door, Director Zhao stuffed a fluffy and soft thing into his arms.

Hua Jingzhi’s sleepy eyes were hazy. He stared at the things in his arms in a daze. “… A dog?”

“Samoyed,” Director Zhao said. “It’s fine to live in a dormitory with the team before, but now you live alone. It’ll be good to have a dog to guard the door. Take good care of it.”

After she finished speaking, they left in a hurry, leaving behind a speechless man and a dog sitting in the living room.

The Samoyed dog was still a puppy. He was like a glutinous rice dumpling, moving around in his arms, with a naive look.

Hua Jingzhi scratched his head. He carried the dog back to the bed and continued to sleep.

He really didn’t know what his parents were up to, but this dog looked cute, and Ruo Bi should like it.

It won’t be a bad idea to walk the dog together.

Xiao Samo was very easygoing. He found a comfortable position on the bed and fell asleep with all four paws in the sky.

Downstairs in the community, Professor Hua was waiting in the car.

Director Zhao came down, opened the door and got in the car.

“Did you give him the dog?”

As if performing a special mission, Director Zhao nodded. “Yes.”

Professor Hua pushed his glasses, and a bright light flashed in his eyes. “We will know the result soon.”

“Yes, when we come again and see the dog jumping on Ruo Bi, then it’s likely…”

They looked at each other and smiled. “It happened.”
