第 43 章
Live Together
When Yu Huan heard Gao Yan’s suggestion to live together, her first thought was that it was too fast. However, after Gao Yan talked to her about it a few more times, Yu Hua began to feel that it was doable.
Gao Yan went to her house almost every day after they had established their relationship. It was normal for them to spend the night together.
Their respective places were filled with a lot of each other’s belongings, from clothes to shoes, shower gel to shampoo, and tea cups for drinking water, as well as some small items they shared.
It was not much different from living together.
Yu Huan finally agreed.
She and Gao Yan had done everything, and there’s nothing to be worried about. Living together saved them from having to drive to each other.
She chose a Saturday to move her things to his house.
It was a rare weekend where neither of them had anything scheduled. There was no overtime, or any social events to go to. It was a holiday for both of them.
Gao Yan helped Yu Huan pack up her things and asked her how she was going to spend it.
“What do you usually do on weekends?” Yu Huan asked.
“When there aren’t any events to go to? Fishing and playing basketball with some friends, and I will go look for you,” Gao Yan replied.
“What about when you’re home alone?”
“I’m not usually home alone,” Gao Yan said. “What about you?”
Me?
If she was not working overtime or had to go to an event, she was usually cooking, cleaning, and shopping for necessities on the weekends.
But at Gao Yan’s place…
The housekeeper did everything every day. There was no dust on the sofa, Gao Yan’s clothes were washed, ironed, and neatly hung in the wardrobe. The garden was also trimmed.
The only fault was how the refrigerator was slightly empty. There was nothing inside except fruit, wine, and some beverages.
“If I’m not busy on the weekends, I like to cook and eat at home. Otherwise, I go to the supermarket,” Yu Huan said.
Gao Yan hardly used the kitchen at home, and he rarely ate at home. He would sometimes call the housekeeper ahead of time to buy some ingredients before coming over.
He had only eaten Yu Huan’s cooking two times since they started a relationship. There was that one time when Chen Yilin was sick, and the other time she had asked him to stay at her house.
At this moment, she asked to go to the supermarket, and he nodded. “’Okay.”
There was a fancy supermarket near the villa. It basically had imported goods, and there weren’t a lot of choices.
In order for Yu Huan to have more choices, Gao Yan drove to another supermarket farther away.
Yu Huan had already figured out what she was going to buy before coming. Upon entering, she went to the food area.
Gao Yan slowly pushed the shopping cart behind Yu Huan. From time to time, she picked up something from between the shelves they passed by, but she never put it in the cart.
Soon, Yu Huan bought everything she needed and asked him, “Do you have anything you want to buy?”
Gao Yan shook his head.
“Then why were you always taking things?”
“I’m just taking a look.”
What Gao Yan did not say was that he was taking a mental note on the brands she used.
They went to check out.
The checkout line was not long, and soon it was Yu Huan’s turn.
She took out her wallet from her bag, but Gao Yan had already scanned the code.
While waiting for the cashier to scan all the items, he put everything into the shopping bag.
As soon as everything was scanned, he lifted everything. He held the hopping bag in one hand, and held her hand with the other.
“So skilled.” Yu Huan tilted her head and asked, “Did you go to the supermarket a lot with your girlfriend?”
“No,” Gao Yan said. He gestured to Yu Huan to look ahead. “I’m learning from them.”
Yu Huan looked and saw a cheesy couple in front of them.
The couple had two large bags. The boy carried everything in one hand. The girl wanted to help but was stopped by him. He insisted on carrying it all alone and he took her free hand to hold.
The girl could only take the boy’s arm.
Thus, Yu Huan learned from them and put her hand on Gao Yan’s arm.
Back at the villa, they rested for a while before Yu Huan started to cook dinner early.
It was all simple homemade dishes, but Gao Yan ate it all.
“I didn’t know you were such a good cook.” He put the dishes in the dishwasher and sighed.
“Who told you not to stay for a meal?” Yu Huan wiped the stove.
Gao Yan seemed somewhat aggrieved and turned his head to mouth at her, who’s fault is that?
“I’ll go wash some fruit,” Yu Huan looked away guiltily.
They had common fruits like oranges, apples, and pears in the refrigerator. Yu Huan also bought dragonfruit, plums, and bayberry from the supermarket
While looking at all the fruits, Yu Huan realized for the first time that she didn’t know what Gao Yan liked to eat.
When asked if he wanted the eggs fried sunny side up or over easy, he said either was fine. During dinner, she asked if he liked heavy or light meals, and he also did not choose one.
She also rarely saw him eat fruit.
When she asked him about it at the supermarket, he said he would eat any.
She didn’t know if he was accommodating her or if he had intentionally asked to spend time with her so she could observe what he liked.
Yu Huan looked at the man next to him and suddenly felt a desire to play around with him.
