Reunion

Liang Shiyun did not think she would be joining the class reunion.

It was said that this was the occasion to show off.

When you first entered society and had a hard time making a living, you might still think of your classmates. Once five years passed by, time gradually showed its magic.

At the beginning, life seemed the same, but gradually became different. Some got married and had children, some were still single.

Those who did not have it good did not dare to come, and when they did come, they just sat silently in the corner and didn’t speak.

Everyone gathered around the round table. They asked questions and gave praise in a fake manner. After dinner, in various small corners of the bathroom, they gossiped about today’s new information with the people next to them.

It was really boring.

But when she received the WeChat message from the Youth League Secretary, Liang Shiyun thought about it for a while before replying, “Sure.”

She recently had some problems with the company’s funds, and was anxious to sell a resort project.

In order to attract more people to bid, she had to use all the contacts she had. However, after comparing all of her contacts, she found a person that would most likely be interested in this project and be able to bid on it. It was her college classmate and the person in charge of the Leshang Company—Gao Yan.

Unfortunately, when she was in college, she didn’t have any personal relationship with Gao Yan. However, she had no choice but to become friends at the class reunion.

SHe asked the driver to park the car on the side of the road. Liang Shiyun adjusted the light windbreaker on her body, and opened the door in the somewhat chilling winter wind.

She was already tall and slender, and the long windbreaker added a nicetouch to her.

However, what didn’t match the cold weather was that she was wearing a dress under the windbreaker. It was a backless champagne color dress. When it was against her fair skin, it was very sexy.

The cold air outside the car made her tremble. She gritted her teeth and continued to take small, unhurried steps. The silver pointed high-heeled shoes stepped on the ground, making a crisp “click” sound.

There were more than 30 people in the class that year, but only a dozen were contacted.

The location of the reunion was a Japanese restaurant a few streets away from the old school.

The decoration of the restaurant was very artistic. The screen printed Ukiyo-e artwork on the hallway accentuated the tranquil and elegant atmosphere in the store.

Liang Shiyun opened the door and entered after changing her shoes in the hallway.

“Sorry everyone, there was traffic.” She squeezed out an apologetic smile.

The lively voices inside suddenly paused, and then someone shouted out, “The most beautiful girl in our class is here—”

They studied architecture. There were too many monks and not enough food to go around. The ratio of men to women was seriously unbalanced.

Liang Shiyun was beautiful with exquisite facial features. Her mother was a professor in the department. The reputation of the Department of Architecture was automatically given to her.

Liang Shiyun looked around. The old classmates in the private room were sitting together with smiles, and the dishes were already half served on the table.

The secretary of the Youth League greeted her with a smile. “Rush hour is around now. There are several classmates who also came across traffic on the road, Shiyun, please find a place to sit~”

“Yeah, if I knew there would be so much traffic, I would have taken the subway,” Liang Shiyun responded.

The seat was a kneeling cushion. Liang Shiyun looked around, but couldn’t find the man she wanted to talk to. She figured that he was also stuck in the road, so she randomly found an empty seat and sat down.

To Liang Shiyun, most of her classmates were strangers since they had not seen each other in so many years.

But now she had to pretend to be acquaintances with them. She racked her brains to figure out everyone’s friend groups, and tried to dig up a topic from when they were in school to talk about.

The people there were thoughtful. There were smiles on their faces for the people they hadn’t seen for a long time, which were a little fake and a little real.

Gao Yan did not come for a long time, Liang Shiyun’s patience was almost exhausted, and the conversation and laughter became more superficial.

At this moment, the door was pushed open. It was followed by a clear voice. “It seems that I am late.”

“Chu Xia!” Someone shouted excitedly. “When did you return to the country?”

Liang Shiyun raised her head when she heard that voice. Her hands holding the chopsticks froze. When he glanced over, she still smiled slightly to say hello.

When he saw her, his eyes stopped. His deep eyes fluctuated, and he was about to speak.

At this moment, the Youth League Secretary stood up and put his arms around the shoulders of the visitor.

“This kid is finally willing to come back. You said that the plane was delayed, so I was afraid that you would not be able to come. I didn’t tell our classmates that you were coming since I was afraid that they would think I was bragging. How have you been? How long will you stay this time?”

The secretary took Chu Xia to his seat, and the men sitting there also greeted him warmly. Chu Xia, the class monitor, did a lot for them. For example, he listened to their opinions and organized a friendly gathering with the most beautiful women in the foreign language department next door. He also organized trips to different attractions every now and then…

They pulled Chu Xia to sit in the middle, and everyone talked to each other.

Liang Shiyun was far away, but she still heard some of their conversation. For example, he just came back today, and rushed over as soon as he got to his hotel. Or, how he was going to live in the country for a long time…

“Why did you suddenly decide to return to the country? Could it be that you’re getting married?” The male student sitting on Chu Xia’s right suddenly asked.

Chu Xia went abroad for graduate school back then, and has stayed abroad for the past few years.

The group of people waited eagerly for an answer, and Liang Shiyun paused for a moment while swiping her phone. After a while, she heard the long awaited sentence: “What marriage? I don’t even have a girlfriend.”

“It’s not that?”

“Impossible!”

“Really?”

No one believed him. The male student who brought up the topic gave an exaggerated response. He took out his cell phone and scrolled through the photos. He said that his son was two years old, and that it was impossible for Chu Xia to be single if he was so outstanding.

Another female classmate next to her spoke up, “These days, the more outstanding you are, the more likely you are to be single.”

Then everyone’s eyes turned to Liang Shiyun.

After six and a half years after graduation, everyone was about to enter their thirties. At this age, many people are married, few were in love, but it was even rarer for a person to be single.

Everyone looked at Liang Shiyun for a while, then at Chu Xia for a while, and someone mentioned, “Don’t they look compatible?” Everyone followed with the same comments about how they could just be a couple.

They made these kinds of jokes in college.

Back then, both of them had the same outstanding appearance, with their evenly matched grades. They were admired by many classmates.

It was a joke back then, but perhaps everyone was probing at it. They wanted to know what kind of ideal partner these two blessed people had in mind. Most of the students were married, so they were joking and did not mean anything else.

Chu Xia didn’t say anything. He just looked at Liang Shiyun.

The defined facial features and a tall nose bridge. Six years later, the handsome face in her memory was polished over time, the facial features became more defined, and the lines were clearer.

The collar of his black button down was slightly open, and she looked at the figure under the tight top. He was not out of shape, and he had gotten stronger. She couldn’t help but think of those nights when her face was blushing, her heart was beating, and her hands and lips were on those hard muscles.
