Forced Match

When Liang Shiyun was in college, and because her mother was a professor in the department, her relationship with Chu Xia was always a secret. She did not dare to let her classmates know about it.

After graduating, Chu Xia chose to go abroad for graduate school, while Liang Shiyun decided to take over her father’s company.

One was at home and the other was abroad; one was working and the other was studying. Adding in the time difference and how busy they were, the breakup happened naturally.

The students were still loud.

Liang Shiyun stopped the inappropriate images in her mind, met Chu Xia’s gaze, and smiled.

After six years, she had changed a lot compared to Chu Xia.

Her straight black hair turned into big waves, and framed her small face. The once plain face was also painted with exquisite makeup, and even her eyelashes were clearly defined.

She didn’t know if it was because of the alcohol, but the tip of her nose was slightly red under the light in the room. Her eyes showed she was  also a little drunk.

The black eyes were full of glistening water as if to say: Why don’t we try again?

The students next to him cried out even louder.

Right at this moment, the phone rang abruptly.

“Hey, Gao Yan, are you here?” The party secretary picked up the phone. After a while, he announced to everyone, “Gao Yan said he couldn’t come.”

“Is he that busy?” A classmate asked in a slightly upset tone.

“He’s a big boss, with so much business to do, how can he find the time for his classmates?” Another classmate quickly added, “He’s  not the only one who couldn’t come.”

Gao Yan was undoubtedly the most valuable person in the class. However, his wealth did not come from his own hard work. He had a rich second generation demeanor since his student days. Adding to that was his outstanding appearance, which captured the hearts of many female classmates.

Although the male students in the class received a lot of help from him, there was still this imbalance between them.

If they had the same chances in life as him, they would take it too.

The small commotion about Chu Xia and Liang Shiyun was taken over in a flash.

Everyone continued to pat their shoulders to reminisce about the past.

People were persuaded to drink. They were in high spirits and gossiped… After getting a little drunk, everyone became more friendly and gradually revealed their true personalities. Later, the party secretary suggested that everyone go to KTV.

It was nine o’clock at this time.

Liang Shiyun’s stomach was half filled with wine and food. She was a little tipsy, so she made an excuse and withdrew.

She stood on the side of the road waiting for the driver to drive over.

Since she drank and the room was hot, she simply opened the windbreaker.

As soon as the wind blew, the dress was exposed. The tight fabric wrapped around her chest and waist. Her straight long legs and slender ankles were in stockings that seemed to be new. And yes, it was very alluring.

Chu Xia stood close by, and he clicked on the lighter.

Liang Shiyun turned her head when she heard that sound. She saw Chu Xia under the shade of the tree with an unlit cigarette in his mouth.

“It’s you,” she said, “Why aren’t you going to karaoke?”

“Don’t you know how well I sing?” The man with the coat open stared at her for a while.

Liang Shiyun: “…”

God was fair in his ways. Chu Xia, who was a top-notch person, actually has a shortcoming— tone deafness.

Liang Shiyun remembered forcing him to sing again, and that voice was unforgettable.

She tried her best to suppress her laughter, and heard Chu Xia ask her, “Why don’t you go?”

“I have to get up early tomorrow, so I can’t join in on the fun,” Liang Shiyun said. “I’m not interested anyway.”

“Is it boring?” Chu Xia asked.

Is it boring because Gao Yan didn’t come?

At the dinner table, Liang Shiyun asked the party secretary about Gao Yan a few times. When she heard that Gao Yan could not come, she openly showed an expression of disappointment.

“Because you didn’t see the person you wanted to see?” Chu Xia asked another question.

“What?” Liang Shiyun didn’t hear clearly.

At this moment, a voice stopped them.

Liang Shiyun and Chu Xia turned their heads at the same time. They saw a female classmate who went to the bathroom before dinner was over. She was coming from the direction of the restaurant, and she looked at them. “Hey, aren’t you two going to sing karaoke?”

“We have something to do,” Liang Shiyun replied. “Why aren’t you going to KTV?”

“Don’t tell me about it. I only went out for a while, but my husband is urging me to hurry up and complaining about how I couldn’t bring our child.”

“Really? Then bring your husband and child with you next time. I remember you gave birth to a daughter, right? The photos look so cute.”

”Cute? She’s just a walking disaster…”

…………

As soon as the topic of children was mentioned, the female classmates talked too much.

Soon, Liang Shiyun’s driver drove over. She opened the back seat door and asked the two classmates who were still standing by the side of the road, “How are you getting back?”

Female classmate: “Taxi.”

Chu Xia: “Didi.”

No one had come to pick anyone up.

Liang Shiyun then opened the car door a little, and asked, “How about I take you back?”

A polite invitation, purely out of courtesy.

The female classmate hurriedly waved her hand to say no, but Chu Xia replied, “Okay.”

Liang Shiyun: “…”

Finally, the female classmate got into Liang Shiyun’s car with Chu Xia.

The female classmate lived close by. Within ten minutes, the driver brought her home, and Liang Shiyun asked Chu Xia, “Where do you live?”

“At the Intercontinental,” Chu Xia said the name of the hotel.

After a while, he asked, “How have you been these few years?”

“I’m fine, and you?”

“Good.”

Then, they fell into silence.

Both of them were people who didn’t like to post on Moments. Over the years, the only thing they had learned about each other’s current situation came from what they heard from other students.

This made them feel like strangers, unable to speak even if they wanted to talk.

Liang Shiyun simply looked down at her phone.

It just so happened that someone in the class group posted a small video of everyone singing karaoke, and Gao Yan also sent a message to apologize. He said that he couldn’t come because something came up today, and to have fun.

Liang Shiyun then tapped and replied: “Then you have to keep your word.”

Gao Yan didn’t seem to expect her to  reply to him. He sent a “whale eating” emoji, and asked why he didn’t hear her voice in the video.

Liang Shiyun replied, “If I have a good voice like yours, I will go. I suddenly thought of how there was another singer who sang more with more emotions, and I couldn’t be happier.”

Chu Xia saw her slightly raised lips through the rearview mirror.

He had not seen her in six years.

Before, at the dinner table, he only noticed the changes in her face. In this warm car, he discovered that her figure also changed a lot.

The windbreaker  was taken off and folded on the seat.

Liang Shiyun’s snow-white back was so close to the seat, and her leaning posture made her collarbone more delicate and attractive.

The dress was tight on her body, and her chest was much plumper than before. Her waist was still slender, and the curve was so deep that it would make a person have a nosebleed.

Anyone wearing such sexy clothes, no matter how you looked at them, would seem to have ulterior motives.

The heat blowing in the car evaporated the perfume on Liang Shiyun’s body, and sent it into Chu Xia’s nose as if there was nothing.

He loosened his neckline involuntarily, and took out his phone to divert his attention. However, he happened to see that Liang Shiyun and Gao Yan were having a lively discussion in the group chat.
