Lovey-doveyness

Dinner was ready soon.

Liang Shiyun cooked the millet congee, steamed some frozen buns, and pan fried some vegetables.

Liang Shiyun didn’t cook much. The congee was a little too thick, and the vegetables were too salty. Yet, Chu Xia still ate two bowls in silence.

After eating the hot congee, his stomach felt better. Chu Xia became much more energetic.

He measured his temperature and he still had a low-grade fever. Liang Shiyun urged him to take medicine, told him to cover himself with the blanket to not catch a cold, and sat on the edge of the bed to chat with him.

Two colds in one year. Chu Xia felt that he had been neglecting his workout, his health was not delicate.

He saw that Liang Shiyun was nervous, so he laid down on the bed obediently.

“Lie down with me too.”

“You haven’t recovered from your cold yet.”

“I won’t do anything else.” He just wanted to cuddle with her.

“…”

Liang Shiyun finally got into Chu Xia’s blanket.

The temperature in the bed was a bit hot. Liang Shiyun didn’t say anything, she just laid down next to Chu Xia.

The faint smell of shampoo and shower gel lingered on the tip of her nose. It was mixed with his smell, which somehow felt reassuring. She moved in closer.

Her breasts rubbed against his arm, and she felt his body move unnaturally. He only gently reached out to wrap his arm around her..

They chatted about what happened in the past two months.

After running around for the last two days, Liang Shiyun was a little sleepy. She fell asleep after a while. As he listened to her slow and long breathing, Chu Xia’s chest was filled with the joy and satisfaction of reuniting after a long absence.

He looked at her sleeping face and desperately wanted to kiss her, but in the end he only kissed her forehead gently, slowly, and with great care.

On the next day, Liang Shiyun woke up and found herself nestled in Chu Xia’s arms, and he had one arm under her pillow. She didn’t know how long she slept like this.

Liang Shiyun raised her head and gently tucked Chu Xia’s arm back.

The phone screen showed that it was 7 o’clock in the morning, and there were still a few unread messages. As soon as she clicked on it, an arm reached across and pulled her in.

It was Chu Xia, who was still asleep.

Liang Shiyun replied briefly to the messages, turned sideways into Chu Xia’s arms, and continued to sleep.

It was strange to say this, but she wasn’t used to this lovey-doveyness a few months ago. After yesterday’s conversation, when she clearly understood his feelings for her

It seemed that a prison in her heart was suddenly open. She could finally free her love for him

So many things were different.

Like now. She was clearly awake, but she just wanted to lie in bed, look at Chu Xia’s sleeping face, and listen to his strong and powerful heartbeat. She didn’t want to do anything else.

“Are you awake?” The person next to her suddenly moved. The pleasant voice filled Liang Shiyun’s ears.

She looked up and met Chu Xia’s sleepy eyes.

Do you feel better?” She reached out to touch his forehead.

“Yes.” Chu Xia replied succinctly. He took her hand, lowered his head, and gave a peck at the corner of her lips.

Morning light came in from the window, and warmth slowly spread between them. Suddenly, a cell phone on the side table vibrated, breaking the silence in the room.

It was Liang Shiyun’s cell phone, and the caller was an English name.

“Hi,“ she greeted. Her tone suddenly lowered, and she got up from the bed.

A man’s sixth sense surged up. Chu Xia suddenly remembered the man on the phone that day.

He tightened his grip on Liang Shiyun’s waist, and pressed her close. He tried to make some noise, but finally let her go.

Liang Shiyun got up and went to the balcony to answer the phone. When she came back, Chu Xia was making breakfast in the kitchen.

He was more proficient at cooking than before, and he looked like a cook wearing an apron. However, the heavy “thump thump” sound of the kitchen knife hitting the cutting board still revealed the fact that he was not in a good mood.

“Are you done with the call?” Hearing the sound of footsteps behind him, he didn’t raise his head and asked this question.

“Yes.” Liang Shiyun nodded.

“Was it  the one who was discussing vinyl records with you that day?” Chu Xia asked another question. He tried to calm his tone, but somehow there was a scent of jealousy that couldn’t be concealed.

Liang Shiyun was surprised for a moment, but then reacted quickly. No wonder Chu Xia called that day and only exchanged a few words before hanging up.

“He will never call again,” Liang Shiyun said.

Chu Xia’s chopping was unconsciously gentler, but he still didn’t speak.

Liang Shiyun felt that he still wanted to ask something, so she walked over and quietly put her arms around his waist from behind. “I can’t lie to you and say that I had nothing to do with him, but I won’t have anything to do with him in the future.”

Chu Xia didn’t say anything.

No man was completely generous in such matters.

Liang Shiyun thought about it, and spoke up again, “During that time, I was too confused, I thought… I thought there was no possibility for us. But when I heard your voice on the other end of the phone, I realized that I was wrong.”

It can only be said that she was trying to deceive herself.

Or because of the past, she had always been trying to suppress her feelings.

She thought that she could be as realistic as Chu Xia, that Chu Xia was not that important to her, that she really met a good person so she tried to start a new relationship—but in the end she was just deceiving herself.

She was just afraid that Chu Xia would not be as determined as before, so she couldn’t be determined either. She didn’t have the courage to try to have a long distance relationship with him again.

Liang Shiyun was not good at expressing herself. She thought about it a lot, but she didn’t know how to say it.

Chu Xia had always known this.

He remembered what she said yesterday. She said that she thought she would not love him after being separated by an ocean, but in the end she realized that she was wrong.

In fact, only one sentence was enough to explain everything.

“I understand.”

Chu Xia took a deep breath. He stopped Liang Shiyun’s attempt to continue explaining, pulled her over, and hugged her tightly.
