第 29 章
High Fever
“I’ll go and have a look first, and if I can’t find her, I’ll call you.”
Chu Xia put on the raincoat and set off.
Intensive rain rushed down from the gray sky to the earth. Even if the forest was lush with trees, it still couldn’t stop the bean-sized raindrops from falling from the leaves one after another.
It was very dark. Rain and fog shrouded the woods in shadow. Visibility was extremely low.
Chu Xia followed the road, and there was no trace of Liang Shiyun around.
“Shiyun!” he shouted.
The trees rustled. The sound of the wind and rain drowned out his voice.
He could only use a flashlight to search around in the forest. After searching for more than half an hour, he finally saw Liang Shiyun squatting under a pavilion.
Fortunately, she didn’t get too wet.
“Shiyun!” Chu Xia called out. His voice was already hoarse.
Liang Shiyun vaguely heard someone calling her, and turned around. “Why are you here?”
In the afternoon, Qi Fan answered a phone call and walked away. Liang Shiyun was waiting for him, but a monkey came from nowhere in the woods and snatched her things.
Liang Shiyun chased the monkey.
The monkey jumped up and down as if it was playing a game with her. When Liang Shiyun finally caught up with it, she realized that she was lost.
Then came the rainstorm, and she was trapped in the pavilion.
“Are you okay?” Chu Xia strode forward.
“I’m okay,” Liang Shiyun responded, but didn’t get up.
Chu Xia thought she was cold. He untied her raincoat, and gave it to her. He looked down, only to find that her pants were rolled up, and her ankle was tightly bound by a scarf.
“What happened?”
“I was bitten by a snake,” Liang Shiyun explained. “I didn’t see the snake, and I don’t know if it was poisonous, but I tied it up first.”
Before she finished speaking, she suddenly felt a cold touch on her ankle. It was Chu Xia who was squatting down to inspect her wound.
The two pierced wounds were slightly red and swollen, but there was no obvious color change.
“It shouldn’t be a poisonous snake—” Liang Shiyun also looked at the wound. Her tone was very calm, as if she was talking about something as common as eating and drinking.
Chu Xia frowned suddenly.
He helped her button up the raincoat, and squatted down in front of her. “Come on, I’ll carry you back.”
“It’s raining too much. Let’s just wait a minute—”
Chu Xia interrupted her, “Hurry up! Many venomous snake bite wounds do not show a response at the beginning, so don’t be careless.”
He bent his knees even lower.
Seeing his insistence, Liang Shiyun had no choice but to get on his back.
It’s still raining.
On the way back, it was getting darker and everything was covered with fog. The whole forest seemed like a set in a movie.
The wind and the rain, like a frightened deer, collided wildly
Chu Xia walked through the wind and rain with Liang Shiyun on his back. His front and legs were soon wet. Liang Shiyun tried to help Chu Xia keep the raincoat on, but the wind kept blowing it up.
Chu Xia’s face had creases from the wind.
“Why don’t we wait for the rain to stop?” Liang Shiyun buried her head on Chu Xia’s shoulder, “My leg is fine.”
Hearing this, Chu Xia didn’t stop. Instead, he accelerated his pace.
Liang Shiyun would always make light of important things.
When her stomach would hurt so much that she couldn’t keep a straight face, she said she was fine; or when she was criticized by Fang Yuan and would be depressed all day, she would also say she was fine.
She had always been like this. Competitive and strong, never willing to show any vulnerability.
The breakup back then was a decision he made after carefully thinking through it when he realized a long distance relationship would not work out. Yet, he hoped that she would find someone to be with her and take care of her.
Chu Xia rushed forward, and within half an hour, they returned to the inn.
Cheng Qiao quickly drove Liang Shiyun to the hospital.
Fortunately, her wound was really nothing serious. The doctor simply prescribed medicine and sent them back.
After this incident, the wedding continued on during the second day.
The view was beautiful after the rain with the lush green mountains and the air was fresh. The wedding was praised by friends and family for being unique.
But no matter how unique it is, the process was still the same: the bride’s father handed over the bride to the groom, the emcee gave a warm speech, the bride and groom exchanged vows of love, and all the friends cheered. In the final moments of the touching atmosphere, the couple made their marriage official, kissed, and the bouquet was thrown
Cheng Qiao intentionally threw the bouquet in Liang Shiyun’s direction. Somehow, the bouquet went towards Chu XIa.
Chu Xia reached for it.
He was wearing an ironed suit. He appeared solemn and decent, and extraordinarily elegant
But his gait was stiff. It was like he was drunk. As he caught the bouquet, he swayed, staggered left and right, and fell straight to the ground.
“Chu Xia—” Liang Shiyun saw this and hurried to help him.
Chu Xia’s forehead brushed against her face, and his head fell to her shoulder.
Even though it was only for a moment, Liang Shiyun felt that his forehead was incredibly hot.
